To regain my confidence and happiness after a rough couple of years. And to finally get to wear what I want!

Yes ... that's another thing for me. Most of my stuff has been in storage from June 2012 to November 2014 because of travel, moving, etc.

When we unloaded everything, and I started putting my clothes away in my closet, I knew a few items would be too small for me, so I thought I'd put them into a bin in the basement. And then I filled 3 bins of clothes that are too small for me.

Here I had been looking forward to having a wardrobe with variety ... and then I had to pack away half of it because it didn't fit. And about half of the stuff I opted to keep available is borderline too small. How disappointing.

I haven't tried anything on since I've lost a little bit of weight ... I'm kind of waiting until I lose a little bit more. But I'm hoping that in the next month or two, I might be able to wear some more clothes!

I'm here because a cycling jersey doesn't look good stretched over rolls of fat. That and because my blood pressure was creeping up.

My husband and I bought good quality, and fairly expensive rain jackets for cycling.

When we bought them about 4 years ago, mine was just a bit snug but still wearable. In the months before I started here, the only way I could wear it was if I did not zip it up ... kind of pointless to leave a rain jacket unzipped!

I've been thinking about buying a new cycling rain jacket ... but my money sense tells me that my current one is still perfectly good, and I haven't worn it much so it looks almost new, and if I just lost a bit of weight, I could wear it again!!!

Well ... I can zip it up!! :D I wouldn't want to make any sudden moves in it, but zipping is a start.

I've known for a few years that the weight was creeping back on. A visit to the Dr. in early January was the motivation to start being serious about losing weight and getting in shape. I plan to retire next year and want it to be an active, healthy next stage in my life. I want to be around to see my grandchildren grow up.
