Quick background. In 1999, I weighted 445. I lost 230 on Medifast and then another 25 on low cal/low fat dieting. Never exercising. After a few years I leveled out at about 225 eating healthy and cycling mostly with light weight training.
In 2008 I stopped cycling after a cross country move and ended up regaining a significant amount of weight. I got back up to 311 as of this January when I rededicated myself to exercise and sensible dietary choices.
I have started practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai as well as participating in fitness boot camp classes 3 times a week at my Jiu Jitsu school.
I no longer believe in quick weight loss through low calorie eating as I have learned through my own personal experience that it does not work for me as I cannot sustain the way of eating required to do it on the long term. Instead I am doing TDEE-20% and slowly losing fat while maintaining (so far) my LBM.
So, here is my progress so far since Jan of this year. I have gone from 311 to 274 so far. Lost 6 inches in my waist and feel fantastic.
Unfortunately, I do not have any non-face shots at 311, so here is facial progress. I do not have a weight goal right now, I am just shooting for 20% BF as my first goal then I will reassess from there.
