Calorie dense foods without a lot of fiber...

Hi, all. I've been very, very sick for about a week, and on Friday the doctor put me on some antibiotics. I've been having a rather unpleasant side effect, and let's just say that I don't want to add any more extra fiber to my diet right now. :s Anyway, my appetite has taken a serious nosedive. I just don't want to eat, and even just thinking of food makes me feel queasy. So I am looking for some calorie dense foods that don't have a ton of fiber until I am feeling better. I love peanut butter, but unfortunately can't tolerate it right now in combination with the antibiotic. Any ideas?

Avocado, oils, and ice cream. But if you arent' feeling well, whatever you can get down is beneficial, even if you have to drink calories.

This sounds close to my diet yesterday, lol. I made a pizza and picked away at it all day. It was one of the only things that sounded good, and I had a Reese's egg in the evening. I was still way under my calories, but I at least managed to get in about 1300 with that. Not feeling much like pizza today though. May have to go the liquid route...a shake kind of sounds good.

If you make a shake, use milk instead of water.. that will help add calories or even use a double scoop of protein powder.

Thanks, I will try that. My protein intake has been really low for a few days so it could use a boost.

Maybe order a pizza instead of making it. More calories that way most likely.

Shakes with added oil would work. Omelets with lots of cheese are also delicious.

Melt some chocolate and add it into the shake. Or just eat melted chocolate.

I actually would have ordered pizza but didn't have the money. I just made a frozen one we had in the freezer. It was pepperoni but thin crust so not quite as high in calories. Actually, a cheesy omelet sounds yummy. I think I may try that and a shake later. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

I actually thought about the bacon. I have some we need to use up. I have some hamburger up in the freezer though, so I was thinking a hamburger with some bacon on it later if I'm up to it. I was going to have that yesterday, but my energy was just gone by the end of the day, and I didn't feel like cooking. Ugh, I hate being sick...haven't been this sick in years.

Bacon in/on omelet and maybe a chili with the beef instead? Since you can kind of cook chili without really watching over it.
