I've been wondering how to convince myself to keep going when I'm tired. I know I am so proud of myself when I get a good (for me) workout in. However, I often find I want to quit as soon as I start. What do you do to tell yourself to,keep going, besides, "keep going".

I usually feel really good after my workout, so I just try to remember that. And if I am truly not feeling it, I give myself a day off.

I try to set goals for myself for the workout and I can't quit once I reach them. For example, last time I rowed a 5k I did it in 31 minutes and the next time I row I have to break 31 minutes even if it is by a few seconds. I have set long term goals for myself to keep motivated to keep exercising. Such as, being able to do so many pushups in a minute, running a 5k without walking, and increasing my daily step count. Besides telling myself that I got this and I can do it, those things have helped me.

You may want to see if you like other forms of exercises better than what you are currently doing. I enjoy hiking versus being on the treadmill and using kettlebells for strength versus strength machines.
