I have started Heavy Lifting because I LOVE IT. I am using the bodybuilding.com app and I kinda hate it. I stand around in the gym trying to find a way to log the exercises that I'm looking for....

Does anyone have a good heavy lifting app to track sets/weight/reps/progress??

Or alternatively.. If anyone has a good resource... I'm totally willing to print out a good excel worksheet that I can modify for my own use...??

Any suggestions would be AWESOME!

Try JEFIT.com. They have an app and you can set up workouts online. I haven't done a lot with it, so not sure how good it is, but it if it works as advertised it should be good.

I am currently doing Stronglifts 5x5 and that program has a great app. Once you get it started it does all the weight calculations and rests for you.

There are a million different spreadsheets you can find online. It really just depends on what program you want to run.

I track mine on Bodybuilding.com. They have an app you can download to help track in the gym as well.

    Another vote for JEFIT.
Set up your workout on the website, track it on your phone.
Also, look at Fitocracy, which is basically a MFP for fitness. Lots of useful folks on there with tons of support and willing to answer questions.

I'm an old-fashioned gal, I use good ol pen and paper. I've tried using a few apps, but they were just too cumbersome and I didn't have the patience to figure them out. The one app I have found useful is DeekFit Gym because they have a barbell calculator, that helps with the pesky math issue of trying to figure out what plates you need for certain lifts.

I personally use a spreadsheet I created in excel, but I've seen people at my gym use notebooks.

    I’m old school. I have a pretty notebook in which I made columns e.g. date / exercise 1 / exercise 2, … , and I record each workout in the rows (reps/sets/weight).

I might look into those suggestions though, it’s nice to have the info at your fingertips.

Ditto on the notebook. I'm not technologically advanced. I'm proud of myself for using my phone for MFP.

Just started using fitnotes. Nice, clean, and simple. You can add any excersize you want if it's not already in the list. Has a rest timer too.

I like Fitnotes--it's super easy to use as errollm wrote. I've gone back to a notebook but keep thinking about using Fitnotes again.

I know... i'm so debating on whether I should go digital or paper... I suppose I can input all my paper data into an excel sheet and create my own graphs... just wondering. I like to see the data/metrics that apps can offer, but just haven't found an easy to use one yet. Does FitNotes provide any data??

If not... I might as well use Microsoft One Notes and pull into an excel sheet...

(sorry, I do finance for a living and relate just about everything in my life back to a spreadhseet eventually :) - haha)

Use whatever is easiest for you. I'm really good at Excel so I make my own spreadsheets and what not and it works for me. Although I don't use a phone or anything in the gym, just a good ole' notebook and pen; distractions are not allowed. :)
