Is it about counting calories or eating better?

    Both.
In order to lose body weight you have to eat at a deficit ( calories ingested < calories burned).
Eating healthier food enables you to improve your overall health.
Good luck in your healthy journey

counting calories and staying in a deficit, but eating a balanced diet never hurt anyone either

Weight loss is about eating fewer calories than you burn. But, if your goal is to be healthy, you need to eat better and be more active.

For weight loss, counting calories. It never hurts to eat well, for your own well-being but that doesn't affect your weight as long as have more calories out than in. :)

Counting calories, but it's easier to stay under your calorie goal without hanger with a healthier diet.
