We had a great race. With over 7,000 in the 5k even a wave start was hectic. But after the first quarter mile we found our way to the front and kicked it into gear. Finished with a 24:08 and 23 in my age division.
Oh my son beat me by one second :)

Congratulations! That's an AWESOME time and love the picture! One second -- amazing!

hit a huge wall at 10.2 miles, my legs were spent, before that I was in front of the 2:15 pace group but I'm so proud of myself, I never stopped running and even had time to stop and hug my Skip at mile 10 :-)

Fantastic run! It's so great you could run the whole race with him. Where did he finish in his age group?

Ran my first 5k last night, so that brings my total up to 29.6. The race was fine, but my back hurt a ton during the last half. Someone said I could have been hunching over because of the wind, and that may have been why. I thought it could be related to breathing, too.
Anyway, I finished and am resting today and going to attempt another long run tomorrow!

An absolute disaster of a week. It was my birthday on Tuesday, which has meant that I've spent all week eating too much, drinking too much, hungover, dehydrated and fat. Managed a 10.5km run this morning and couldn't do anymore. I felt like there were lead weights in my stomach. Nice reminder why i try to eat healthily and go easy on the booze most of the time. Severely behihd on the challenge, unless i can get up super early tomorrow to get sonevdecent mileage in :'(

75 miles again for me, but this time I'm only counting the miles I run. Walking miles are just a bonus.

    exercise.png
    4/1 - 3 miles - total: 3 miles
    4/3 - 4 miles - total: 7 miles
    4/6 - 7.5 miles - total 14.5 miles
    4/7 - 7 miles - total 21.5 miles
    4/8 - 6.2 miles - total 27.7 miles
    4/9 - 4.75 miles - total 32.45
    4/11 - 7.5 miles - total 39.95

Amendment: If I walk a total of less than 5 minutes out of 90, I'm not going to try to take the walk breaks back out of my mileage total.

    4/12 - 4.5 miles - total 44.45

Another amendment: I can't differentiate running time and walking time when I run outdoors, so I'm counting the whole thing. I think I prefer the treadmill, overall.

    4/13 - 7 miles - total 51.45
    4/14 - 2 miles - total 53.45
    4/15 - 2 miles - total 55.45
    4/16 - 2 miles - total 57.45
    4/19 - 2.5 miles - total 59.95
    4/21 - 7 miles - total 66.95
    4/23 - 4 miles - total 70.95
    4/24 - 6.7 miles - total 77.65

I'm just starting out. This is my first week with C25K training but I'm extremely excited to be finally working towards my dream of being a runner/jogger. Will you be doing this again for May?
