How to find a good workout buddy?

Options
Currently none of my friends that I hang out with enjoy working out, and half of them are pregnant. My kids are getting older so that means they're easier to take care of. So I'm not chained to the house all the time. I'm looking for a workout buddy(s) and would like to know from your experiences what are good qualities to look for when choosing a workout buddy, and what should I stay away from.

The last person who I teamed up with to work out talked me into a gym membership which I signed up for and made a year commitment and then she completely bailed on me. Nice huh?

Best workout buddy I ever had has 4 paws and is covered in fur. He never turns down a walk, hike, run. And if we don't go on two a day he annoys me until I get off my butt to go exercise him.
