Strained my back moving furniture, how long until I can exercise?

I've googled this, getting mixed results. Some articles say I have to wait until the sharpness goes away. Some articles say more movement is better. Has anyone experienced strained, stiff back pain, between the shoulder blades, - almost like more pain, the more I twist and turn? I really want to get back on the exercise bus!

A physiotherapist will tell you to keep active and moving, else it will stiffen up. Unless you have been diagnosed with something that is more than just a strain, Just do light exercise and gradually build up as you feel better.
Instead of using Google, see a Doctor.0 -
When you're recovered enough that exercise doesn't make it worse. Err on the side of over-recovery. See a doctor (or better, a physio) for a real, tailored-specifically-for-your-situation answer.0

Yeah I guess I should of seen the "see your doc" card. It was worse a few hours ago, just applied ice packs for a few min, now it's feeling much better with the exception of long stretching. Thanks for your input, guys. If pain persists, I'll definitely call it in
