I've got 10lbs left and no motivation to lose it...

The scale hasn't budged in two weeks. I know why (CICO), that's not why I'm here. I just don't have the motivation to do this any more.
I love exercise - I can't wait to go swimming tomorrow or running (strength circuit is still a struggle, but I'm doing it). I'm not eating terribly (it's not like the scales gone up either). But I just don't feel like losing those last few pounds is worth the effort. I don't want to count calories. I don't want to weigh my food. I look fantastic, I feel great. I've just tipped the scales on the BMI and Waist/Hip ratio to be in the green on both.
How do I get the motivation to keep going? Do I even need to bother? The last bit feels like vanity pounds, though when I set the goal it was more to give me a 'buffer'. Do I take a break? Try and force myself to push through? Just focus on health and fitness rather than weight at this point?
Tips/Support/Commiseration are all welcome.

You're the one who set your original goal, so you're the only one that can say if it's worth continuing or not.

If you don't feel like doing it - don't!

Take a month or two off worrying about it, keep eating right and keep exercising. Make sure you don't gain, but don't worry about losing. In a few months reevaluate.0

Take a little time off and see how you feel. Last year I got to the same point you are - lost 23lbs but my goal was still 10 away, but I felt amazing and looked pretty darn good if I do say so myself! So I got comfortable - stopped counting calories but kept up the exercise - and gained back 7lbs over the course of about 5 months and now I'm SO mad at myself. I'm back at it and determined to hit my goal this time - but it's been harder because I just want to be lazy. Ugh! You have to do what you think is right - are you goal oriented? If so it's gonna drive you crazy that you didn't bit that goal so just go for it...but maybe set yourself a time limit that's stretched more. Don't try to lose 2lbs a week - it's hard to do when you're small anyways - try for 1lb a week so you have some wiggle room!! Good luck!0

I feel your pain. I've lost 74lbd and would like to lose maybe 10 more. After doing it for so long, it does kind of feel like a chore.
If you are in the healthy BMI, feel good, and are healthy then it's totally up to you. I agree with the above poster who recommended taking some time off. Having a break might give you the clarity you need to make your decision.0 -
Thank you for the replies, everyone.
Lindsay - It sucks that you regained, but good that you're back at it. I'm worried about that if I take a break. I tend to get really goal oriented, but after three months I want to get onto other goals and I could see myself forgetting about weighing and following the things I need to maintain. I'm already only trying for about half a pound a week, so lowering that wouldn't work.
I'm considering taking a break, maybe 2 weeks, then re-evaluating. Must think about this carefully.0 -
Focus on increasing your level of fitness; weight is a distant second. The BMI scale is somewhat arbitrary and not a few people feel it is not a good guide. At best, it needs to individualized for your amount of muscle and bone structure. A study a few years back showed that there was no negative health deficit, and perhaps even something of a benefit, in being a little 'overweight' according to the BMI scale. If you focus on physical fitness, and improving your current level of fitness, the weight will take care of itself. What is your exercise or sport of choice? Focus on running or swimming a mile in less time; increase your distance goals. Live life to the fullest.0

Maybe make fitness related goals - like I choose difficult yoga poses to achieve, and I've just started lifting heavy. After 73 pounds lost, I got a little burned out and have found that shifting focus is really helping me stay present and enthusiastic about things again.0
