Hi Ya'll!

I did this late last summer and had what I thought was an awesome start. I was counting steps and walking for an hour twice a week with splits at about 15 minutes - I even got up to 4 miles in just under an hour on one outing. I was logging nearly everything and drinking my water, and I was losing weight a little at a time. But then cold weather came and the days got shorter. My boyfriend doesn't like me walking at night alone so that stopped. Now I've put back on all the weight I lost plus a little. I'm starting over. The past year has seen a lot of loss for me and being the momma and main ruler of the house I'm not supposed to let them see me down or take time off so I stuffed it...stuffed it with chips, stuffed it with soda, stuffed it with McDonalds - you get my point. I have good days where I'm happy and motivated, and I have bad days where I don't want to get out of bed (but I do because I have no choice).
I have a pretty busy life (thanks to work and motherhood) and very little friends that live close to me. I need online friends that are willing to accept me as I am and help boost my mood when it's low. I'm not happy go lucky all the time. I'm thirsty for knowledge and quick and healthy recipes for home cooking. I'm trying to get my whole house more healthy, not just me. We've gotten into a fast food frenzy the past few months. If I don't have time or forget to take something out of the freezer we always end up with fast food so my little guy isn't up until 10pm waiting for dinner.
Now, I know my personality pretty good, and I've given up a lot of things over the past year - in fact May 1 is 1 year smoke free for me - so I know I am not going to be able to give up ALL of my vices. There is one in particular that will be very difficult, but I know I have to at least put a cap on it....Mountain Dew. I have tried to quit it before...many many times before...but have just had to battle headaches and well, withdrawals.
I'm going to try and do this slow and easy so it sticks. Wish me luck ya'll, I'm gonna need it
