How to protect sensitive teeth from cold when exercising outside?

My front two teeth were broken when I was a kid, so I have one veneer and one crown. When it's even a bit cold out, these teeth hurt. Bear in mind I live in Alberta, Canada. It's a sensitivity issue, but because they aren't real teeth Sensodyne etc won't help.
I'm just starting to run again and noticed it quite badly this morning - it was windy and a bit chilly. When I'm walking my dog in winter, or skiing, I have to try to keep my mouth closed so my teeth don't hurt, but I can't do that when running.
I've googled it, but just got suggestions that it's a dental problem. I was wondering whether a mouth guard might help. Any other ideas? Obviously I'll mention it to my dentist, but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

You could wear a mask. My husband and I have fleece hunting masks we use in the winter and sometimes I wear one when I get brave enough to run in the cold.

maybe a mouthguard that takes up minimal space, just so the cold air doesnt hit your grille directly.0

i would imagine any sports store has them. if not, check out local martial arts places. my kid's karate place sells em for pretty cheap. or there's always amazon...best selection, probably best price, and if you have prime you'll have it in 2 days.0

Husband uses a pollution mask when riding in the city. This might be workable for you. It is lightweight and wouldn't get too wet like a balaclava as it is designed to allow breath and moisture out. But would cut the cold air coming in. Downside you will look like Hannibal Lector and might frighten small children. My husband sees that as a plus though http://respro.com/store/product/city-mask0

I'll look around for a mouth guard and see if that helps.
