I have had a hard time with my weight loss. Going up and down over the last couple of years since I joined MFP. I lost all the way to 182 pounds and then all of a sudden I was feeling sick and gained all the way to 250 pounds. I just couldn't get the weight off to save my life and monthly it kept piling up. I decided at this time I would go to my doctor and get some blood work done. Come to find out I had a hormone imbalance. GREAT!! Lets fix it!!. Easier said then done apparently. I found a different doctor who was more up to date and found out, through an ultrasound, that I was fighting a enlarged liver and gall bladder. This has created a very toxic environment in my system. My blood work showed off the charts for inflammation and I even had a hyperthyroid now and still low hormones. NOW!!! With a dozen plus vitamins and minerals a day were heading in the right direction. It didn't end there though, I got an Anti-body allergy test done and found our I was very allergic to eggs, soy, dairy, and corn and a few other things, on the autoimmune level. My GP told me I was fine and my NP Physician found all that is wrong with me. I can now see that light, I can now start losing weight and stop feeling so ill. I was very anemic also. This is my non-scale victory. I hope it helps others who are trying to lose weight and not going anywhere. I have lost inches within a few days, after being on a diet for so long, I am thrilled to have pants that are looser. For all that are dealing with trying to lose weight, keep working at it and get some blood work done if a regular diet and exercise isn't working.

Gosh, you've been persistent - and I'm so glad you've finally found a doctor who knows what's what. Being stubborn pays off sometimes. :) Well done sweetie!

Thank you..I kept getting sicker and sicker, where I should have been losing weight..I did the scooby diet Tdee-20%, weighing everything, exercising like a fend..then one day last February the pain was so great in my lower back I had to stop..by June I was 50 lbs up and had little feeling in my left leg..by December my health was failing despite seeing the doctor monthly..now with treatment and proper care I am getting better..no cane going on 3 months.
