I decided that buying protein bars is not good with all the added chemicals so I make my own:
2.5 C quick oats
1.5 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/4 C honey
1/2 C unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 C brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 C shredded coconut
1/2 C dark chocolate chips (or almonds or dried fruit)
Mix all together. Spray baking sheet then flatten mixture out in a large rectangle (not too thick). Bake for 18-20 minutes at 325. Let cool, then cut into 12 bars. I wrap mine in saran wrap and put them in the fridge. They last over a week. Approximately 160 calories per bar. YUM!!
