gluten allergy HELP PLEASE

Guys I need help, I just found out today that I am allergic to gluten. How do I even process this? My doctor gave me basically nothing. I don't know what I can eat and how to tell if something I eat has gluten in it. (besides the obvious pastas and bread) I'm freaking out. How do I know if food I didn't cook hasn't been cross-contaminated? Anybody who has a gluten allergy willing to help me?

Stay away from bread, pizza, pasta, cereals, prepared sauces, soy sauce, . . .
Instead eat potatoes, quinoa, beans, peas, lentils. Rice and corn are o.k. for some people.
Cheese (except blue cheese) and other dairy.
Eggs
Fruit
Veggies
Meat and seafood
Beans, lentils
Nuts
Lara bars and many other bars.
Easy to find Wheat and Gluten Free goods in the grocery stores:
Rice Chex, Corn Chex and simliar cereals
Certain Candy like 3 Musketeers Bars (all flavors), Milky Way Midnight Bar, Milky Way Caramel Bar, Dove Chocolate products (all flavors EXCEPT for milk chocolate cinnamon graham/cookies and), Snickers Bars (all flavors), and others.

I recently discovered the same thing. It's hard at first, but when you search around the internet there is a lot of options with flours, sweets, baking goods, a lot of great cooking blogs and etc! There is a lot of information0

Hi I am intolerant not 100% allergic as it's a side effect of my underactive thryoid. However, people still comment on what yummy things I make and bake.
You can't go wrong with good old unprocessed meat and veg/salad. Yep it sounds a bit boring but you can use fresh herbs for flavour.
Over time I bought different gluten free things and I personally don't like the pasta so now I just don't have it. However, it all depends on what you like.
For a true celiac, it can be really daunting as gluten is hidden in many things that you would not normally think about.

It all depends on whether you have been told you are Celiac or whether you are someone who shouldn't eat it as it is more of an intolerance and it won't kill you but you might feel kind of sick, type of thing. If it's the latter then you might be able to still use some spice/flavour shakers and a biscuit now and again won't matter too much.
However, if you have been told you have Celiac disease then you need to search to see if there is an association in your town or city who can help you.
Here in Sweden if you have been diagnosed with Celiac disease you get lots of help and even some of your food heavily discounted/provided. I know it will not be the same where you live, but you need to find a knowledgeable specialist support group.
If you are of drinking age, you can say goodbye to beer and I would avoid red wine as sometimes it has a gluten type filler in it. (I got really really sick last year after drinking just a few glasses!)
I still bake great cakes and all sorts of yummy things, I just use either almond flour or gluten free flour. Most of the time my friends can't even tell the difference.

Okay so that means that you have celiac disease. It isn't an allergy but an autoimmune disease. So you can't eat anything with wheat, barley, rye and oats. You may be able to eat gluten free oats but some people still have a problem with them. Ask your doctor if they can refer you to a dietitian. Did you get a biopsy done? When I went to my gastroenterologist they gave me a 2" binder with a ton of information on celiac disease. You should ask to see if they have any resources like that.0
