Help with polar FT4F and when to wear it

Hi I need help I have just bought a polar FT4F should I wear it all day Fromm when I get out of bed to when I get back in bed to get my calories used for the day or should I just wear it when I exercise I have never had anything like this before so would very grateful for all help

Heart rate monitors are designed for steady state cardio. Do not wear it all day. Just wear it when working out. Take calorie burn as an estimate. Especially when the activity is not steady state cardio.
If you want something to monitor your activity level (something you would wear all day) - that's a FitBit (Fuel/MisFit/VivoFit/JawBone). A FitBit is like a fancy pedometer. It estimates all day calories.0
