I was assigned 1200 calorie diet. I didn't feel that was enough. So I increased my intake to 1500. I've had gastric bypass and I struggle with 15 lbs. Back and forth. I've gained 12 back and my goal is to lose 20. Has anyone else increased their intake?

    You haven't provided enough information.

    Age?
    Height?
    Current weight?
    Activity level?

The basic formula is (calories out - calories in) = amount of weight lost. From this it should be clear how increasing your calories in will effect your weight loss/gain.

Or to make it complicated, increasing your calories in by a little will slow down your weight loss. Increase it more and you will stop losing weight. Increase it even more and you will gain.

it all depends on your TDEE vs how many calories you consume daily. as long as you still eat under your TDEE you will still lose weight.
