Hello, ya'll. Yep, I did say Montana but it is by way of my home state of Mississippi. I am brand new to mfp and, so far, I'm enjoying it. It gives me a way to make sure that I am not eating more than I think I am. I started out already frustrated with myself and my weight so I have to see if I can keep on keeping on. I am a 61 year old grandma with multiple health issues and each winter here in MT I gain what I not-so-lovingly call my "wheelchair butt". I'm not in a wheelchair full time but I sit so much during the Winter that I might as well be. I have two below-knee prosthesis (for many years now), a colostomy and other issues. The only reason I mention this is because these things really limit the type of exercise I can do AND the colon issue limits what I can eat. Some of the seemingly healthiest foods are a problem for me. Squats, lunges, full push-ups, and weight lifting are out of the question. I do chair exercises with stretch bands but it's just not the same as a good cardio workout.
Now, that I'm done sounding like I'm making excuses or having a pity party, let me tell you a little about who I am. I love the outdoors: hunting, fishing, hiking when the legs permit, gardening (well, I did before the short growing seasons here). I LOVE spending time with my 4 children and my 6 grandchildren (who all live approx. 2,000 miles away now). I have become pretty much a recluse and anti-social just because I prefer a quiet, non-dramatic life.
I need all of the encouragement I can get on this weight loss journey. Being heavy is hard on my legs, colon and everything else so, I must get this under control.
I look forward to figuring out this site and learning more about how to lose this weight and tone up in a healthy way.
