Calorie count help! - Fish and Chips

Okay, so I finished all my uni exams as of today, and my dad got fish and chip takeout as a (surprise) treat. I absolutely LOVE fish and chips, and I am grateful and normally wouldn't care (because I let myself have treats here and there), BUT i've kind of been eating really bad lately due to pre-exam and study stress! So I tried to make it as best as possible, but am having trouble knowing how many calories I am consuming...so help would be highly appreciated!

I've got three calamari rings - but removed the crumb on the outside. A small piece of cod abuot the size of an IPhone with the battered removed. and ...quite a few chips :s (Theyre my weakness). I'd say the same amount as a large KFC chips haha.

PLEASE HELP!? The fact that I've removed batter and stuff makes it harder to calculate. Normally I'm not this paranoid..but I've been eating so terribly and need to get back on track.

    Hi Kelsierose,

Firstly just calm down and look at the facts. I don't know what else you've been eating lately but if you've finished your exams why not just say this was a final treat (your dad wanted it to be a treat anyway) before getting back on the horse?

Calculating takeout calories is really difficult - especially when it's from independent places like he chippy. Removing the batter from the calamari won't have done THAT much though. It's where the majority of the calories are, but it doesn't remove the fat absorbed into the squid itself.

I'm exactly the same as you, I flip out over things like this so I know it's a pain in the *kitten* to hear and you'll hate me for it, but I'd say don't drive yourself crazy trying to figure this one out. Do some exercise and just start afresh today. Maybe just drink loads of water and have less fat and carbs if it makes you feel better :)

how about signing this off as the finish meal from the bad food choices from the exam now its finished you move on and start fresh

i would log it as normal fish and chips that little crust does not make such a huge difference to your body

I don't know the actual answer but you could try this website - http://nutritiondata.self.com/

someone from MFP gave it to me a while back and I've found it very useful.

I love fish & chips but haven't eaten it for a year now, since I moved from the UK - I miss it so much! I'm slightly jealous of you right now lol.

Hope you get good results from Uni x

    Hi kelsierose

I'm a sucker for fish and chips too.
I would like to echo what another poster has said - just relax, treat it as a celebratory meal and get back in the swing of things tomorrow. Just enjoy it.
    kind regards,

    Ben
