I have a little one! We all weigh in the same day every week, (honor system), There is no money involved!!!! But if you Lose..you send me weight lost from your original weight, if you gain...you just send me a zero. I send out a chart with weight lost once a week to keep track with inspiring messages, goals, or stories.

The inscentive is for yourself and to make sure you weigh each week.

My work did a weight-loss group once (pre-Biggest Loser). They did a points system where you got points not just for losing weight but for other activities such as eating 5 fruits/veggies a day, exercising, drinking 8 glasses of water, and weighing in once a week. They gave prizes for the most points as well as for the most weight lost (by %age, it's not fair to do by pounds). Hope that helps a little!

we did one at work and we weighed in the same day every week. We had a book where we kept our first date weight and only one person got to see it. That was someone we trusted. Then each week we would weigh ourselves on the honor system and calculate our percentage of weight lost. I had created a poster that I hung up at work and each week everyone would put there percentage lost. We all put in 20 dollars and whoever had the most percentage lost for the time period, which was 3 months for us, won the pot of money. We also did a final weigh in at the end of the three months to make sure no one cheated. I also did smaller posters each week with mini goals like work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes and everyone would track that. Or drink 8 glasses of water a day for 5 days. Just to help everyone stay on track while the time passed. It was a lot of fun!!

We have a wellness plan at our office. We earn points toward extra vacation days. We have numerous ways to earn points, some of which are tracking our meals and steps (via a pedometer), water consumption - all of which myfitnesspal.com assists with. In a years time you can earn up to 3 extra days vacation. Weight loss is one of our categories, you can earn 25 points per pound loss - we have a coordinator who monitors although it is primarily an honor system. We have been very successful in running this program, we are now in our third year.
