Risperdal and weight

I was just prescribed by my doctor risperdal. She warned weight gain is a side effect. Have any of you personaly dealt with this and what are your stories? Weight loss/gain could you lose it ? Were you just more hungry or less motivated? Did you work out and still gain weight? Thanks
