Pants Don't Feel Tight But I'm Not Lifiting

I JUST started to lift weights, but for past several weeks I have been doing elliptical 5 times a week and watching what I eat..less sugar and carbs.....My weight has barely changed, but my pants are fitting better...how can this be muscle if I don't lift?

The body it weird. Sometimes my inches change before my weight and sometimes the other way around. Sometimes nothing happens at all for a few weeks, then BAM. I have given up trying to understand it all. I just "Trust the method" to win out in the end.

I have been lifting about 5 weeks, weight is same AND measurements are the same, but clothes for better.

Everyone is quick to say, 'You're gaining muscle' for any increase or stagnation in weight, but it's actually really hard to gain muscle mass. There's a zillion and one other factors that could be involved, such as glycogen (fuel) storage.

It could be that your body is not as bloated from the carbs and sweets. I know when I cut back, I'm less bloated and everything just feels/fits beetter.
