Cardio class shoes

What shoes do the trick for cardio classes for you? I find that few or no shoes are designed specifically for the purpose, and runners can leave you sliding out on sideways moves and pushing you forward when you are trying to stay in the same spot. Cross trainers have a well earned reputation for being heavy and clunky, and if they don't have a turn spot, your knee feels it, not in a good way.
I do Les Mills Body Step as my main cardio hit, trying to add in more Grit Cardio and Body Attack. I need something that is cushioning, durable, will be stable moving all directions, won't direct me forward, and that won't weigh me down when I am trying to fly.
I have had a few pairs of shoes which have kind of worked before, nothing that has ever ticked all the boxes. It's annoying, looking at shoes and seeing a wall of runners but nothing specifically built for cardio classes.

go to a running store. Any one worth its salt will be able to help you! IF the first one you go to cant/wont help, go to another!
Mine set me up in a pair of light weight and flexible Adidas that are awesome for everything I do (and so comfy i wear them ALL the time). I do zumba and cardio at the gym and occasional walking/jogging....0 -
I wear Nike free. Love them.0

Many cross trainers now are lighter than ever. I have Ryka Influence and they have a turn spot, Inov-8s which are light as anything, New Balance has a minimus shoe that is excellent for weight lifting and can be used in classes. Honestly, I found my running shoes a lot heavier than any cross trainer I've used.
Most of my aerobics instructors wear Nike's, but then again almost everybody here in China wears Nike, which means I don't...
Get thyself to a good shoe store and explain to one of the sales reps your needs and preferences and they'll fit you with a number of shoes so you can find the perfect one.0 -
I have a pair of New Balance Minimus; they have a wide toe box and for me they are perfect for HIIT and some minor cardio (i have a different pair of shoes solely for running...). Very light shoes, which i like for xtraining and moving in all directions. Just go try on a stack of shoes at a running store, and youll find something!0
