I get frustrated when people don't weigh, at least when they are starting out! I had one person tell me they didn't need to and then a few days later they posted that their weight loss stalled. Hmmmmm

Hmm, I lost 66lbs not weighing most things, after my 2nd baby. I'm losing after my 3rd baby now and I am weighing everything. Guess what? I'm losing at exactly the same rate as I did when I didn't weigh everything!

A lot of people have success not weighing but they often have much smaller goals, in my experience. Like, someone my size and age will have a goal of 1400 to maintain, when I would maintain at 1700 (not counting exercise).
I weigh about 90% of what I eat and have noticed that virtually everything weighs more than what the label says it should.

Yeah, about 90% of the things I buy are heavier. Sometimes it's actually mind boggling.

I'm losing on 1600. I don't eat exercise calories though and I exercise a lot and am very active (no choice with 3 young kids lol).

I like weighing as I know what I'm having, and now I'm in the habit of it I wouldn't stop, but I don't think it's the be all and end all it's made out to be. As is often stated on here, it probably becomes more important when you're losing those last few lbs.

theyre crucial lol. after my electronic one shipped, i was floored to see what my "tablespoons" of peanut butter were. you wont believe how tiny a TBSP of PB is. so depressing :(

So much this. I think i felt my heart literally break when i weighed peanut butter for the first time.

I almost fell the to the floor in a heaping clump the first time i did this :scream::cry:

I dont weigh just because i'm counting my calories, i watch my macros like a hawk too.

I was "indignant as a consumer" (ross geller quote) when I started weighing and measuring food.

Before that, I used the standard sets of cups and spoons and was very honest in using them. I scraped off the excess and didn't attempt to pack a lot in. Still, one honest tablespoon of peanut butter weighed waaaay more than the serving said it would! It was almost two in one fhs. And so on with many so called cups. Sneaky *kitten*... lol

I already dread the day that I have to start weighing...I don't know why but it just seems so tedious.

I'm down 25lbs in 12 weeks (175 to 150 at 5'5") and have only weighed things a handful of times. I figure I'll go without weighing until I stop seeing progress :).

I used to think like that too. I was never going to be one of those people who weigh every little thing i eat.... But here i am doing just that.
What i realised is that i was waaay underestimating what i was eating. I have to weigh everything, because i'm hopeless at eyeballing portions and so forth. Weighing stuff doesn't take any more time, after a while you become a well oiled and eficient machine :#

It seems more tedious than it really is. At this point doing it at home is second nature. You don't have to do it for the rest of your life but in my opinion is it great to start of doing it for a while so you can at least see the differences in how much things really weigh and how much you think they do.

Totally, this. I think, inevitably, weighing our food sounded kind of lame to us all, however: 1) It's quite an eye opener, 2) It gives you an awesome feeling of being in control. No need to worry about unknowingly overeating (which would blow!), or unknowingly undereating (which would also blow! haha) and 3) It really does become second nature... quickly. I too got to be a well oiled and efficient machine at it = )
