Ate at maintenance, gained 2 pounds?

So last week I ate more than maintenance calories everyday and gained half a pound. This week, I went up and down and was just at 800 calories deficit for the entire week. Today I checked and I was up another pound! I did check on an empty stomach, but yesterday I had a lot of salty food. Could it have been water?
I weigh everything I eat on a food scale. Thanks in advance!

Weight varies. One pound is well within normal weight variation.0

Your weight easily fluctuates that much just over the course of a day - don't worry about it.0

Sodium=water retention=gain on the scales0

Thanks! I thought it was water retention, I just was surprised I weighed that much even though I hadn't eaten in nearly 10 hours. (almost empty stomach).0
