What is best? Should I set my calorie goal to lose .5 or 1 lb per week ? It's seems like the .5 cals wouldn't work. But the 1 lb calorie seems low. 1600 and 1350. Is .5 to low of a goal to lose per week with serious weight loss needed (about 25-30 lbs) I don't care how long it takes I just need to lose it

How much do you have to lose? I"m guessing not too much based on your calorie goal. My preference is to set mine to 1/2 pound so I can eat more. I'm more likely to continue to follow MFPs advice if I can eat. Food (for me) is key.0

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal
With such a small amount to lose, then its going to be hard losing at 1lb a week as the body tends to cling to the last few lbs. .5 but if you want to lose then it becomes very important your weighing and logging is accurate and exercise will help.0 -
It depends if you can handle eating 1350 calories without feeling punished. If you can, then select 1lb a week0

Wish there was a 'like' button in the forums. Christine, I've seen a number of your posts recently, and have been impressed every time. You really seem to have it together when it comes to supporting others in balancing health, weight loss and 'wild card' differences that occur among the masses.
