So, i eat healthy and exercise often, but can't seem to get rid of my body fat.
I'm not overweight, and don't need to lose weight. But, rather i need to tone up.
And, I've coming to a point i want to try a supplement that's healthy that can help with my eating healthy and exercising.
CLA/Green Coffee Bean Extract and Raspberry Ketones by NatureWise all have great reviews on Amazon- so i was thinking about buying one and seeing how it works for a month.
thank you

Not one of those will do anything to help your with your goals. Lift heavy things and put them down again and save your money from snake oil.0
-
Work on body recomp. This will involve intense weight training and eating at maintenance or just slightly below.
Supplements are just sales gimmicks.

The only thing you'll lose with those is money.0

None of what you mentioned works OP. They are designed for overweight desperate people to part them from their cash.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I tried everything on your list. They're crap, crap and more crap! They did nothing.
The one and only thing that worked was coming here and vigilantly counting and logging my calories.

Waiting for someone with 1 post to chime in and say how great their results were with all of the above supps.0

It'll never happen. Unless of course they reduced their calories and upped their exercise. Even then they'll give the magic supps all the credit ppppffffttt

It's all about your diet and what you eat. If you take supplements or not it comes down to what you put into your body0

Thanks everyone. Yeah, i know with supplements theirs no magic pill. I just thought one of these supplements would be of a little extra help,
The thing is i know to tone up more, i need to lift heavy- but i don't have access to a gym and i don't want to buy heavy weights either. I have 3 and 8 pounds weights
This month i decided to give Jillian Michael s ripped in 30 and 30day shred a try, bc she incorporates weights with some cardio- i read you shouldn't do much cardio if you are trying to tone up. Plus my issue is toning. So, we shall see if that helps. I really eat healthy, 90% of the week i make my own food and focus on clean eating, i eat a few healthy low processed protein bars, and i eat out one meal a week.I exercise every day with one rest day. And, I put in so much work, but for 2 years, my thighs do not look anymore toned.
The frustrating thing is im short and i don't weigh much, but all my weights in my hips and I'm young, so i dont see why i gotta kill myself lifting heavy to see results. For body recomp thats all i see online0 -

What exactly is toning up? Who said not to do cardiovascular while toning up?
toning up=== getting rid of the jiggle

Thanks all.
I meant not over-do it with cardio if weight loss isn't your goal. There is many articles i found online that people stay/get skinny fat with doing too much cardio.
I weigh 103 at 5'0, and losing weight isn't my goal since i dont need to lose any/much, rather just lower by body fat. And, i guess in the process i may lose a bit of weight.
And, yes get rid of my jiggly in my thighs! lol.
And, i just asked to see if anyone used any of these supplements and to see if they helped anyone.

So it means nothing. Okay thanks.
You know exactly what it means. "Skinny fat" people need to tone up

The only supplements I take are zinc, vitamin C, Omega 3's and tumeric. Omega 3's are important to balance the 3,6,9 fat levels in your body. Since 9 isn't essential and your body produces it normally (plus it's found in olive oil) and 6's are found in nuts and grain-fed meats, 3's need to be supplemented to get the ratios up to a better amount. Zinc is good for immunity (glutamine is good too) and vitamin C I take twice a day since it water soluable. Tumeric is excellent as an anti-inflammatory...sports has left me banged up pretty good and too much oxyprofen or aleve is never good, so I started with tumeric and it seems to help.
The raspberry whathaveyou sounds like a gimmic to me. One thing with eating clean and weight loss is it's a lifestyle change, which means you need to do it long term to see results. Your body is smart and does not like to lose weight so you need to be patient, eat the proper foods in the right amounts and exercise. Eventually changes will happen and most often others will see it before you do because you look at yourself every day. There is no quick, fast route to weight loss and change in body composition. It's a process.0 -
Who knows? I read a lot of success stories about CLA. But it depends on your body's reaction to it. So it may or may not work. Worth a try. Lots of negative people on this site! Good luck!0

Still doesn't explain what toning up is.
I don't recall the OP saying she is skinny fat.

I think OP means this. It's cheap and effective for toning up.

Look here for what you can do bodyweight training as well as some resources. You don't need a gym for progressive strength training.0
-
There is no pill that will do the exercise for you.0
-
There are a lot of exercises you can do at home with body weight, including a vigorous vinyasa or power yoga practice. I'd check YouTube for free workouts.0
-
Weights from things at home...
gallon jugs of water = 8 lb
bag of flour = 5 lb (or even 10 - 25 lb, depending)
bag of kitty litter = 40 lb or more
Get a bag of sand or concrete from the home improvement store = 50 lb
Try this: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/
Ignore the ads & supplements, just learn the basics of how to lose fat.
And here's an article about a body weight workout. It links to the ACSM published research/article.
