Treadmill for Tiny Apartments

Anyone have a small treadmill (preferably motorized) that they like?

My apartment is miniscule, and on the third floor of a walkup. I'm the only one around to lift anything, so I'm trying to find something that's small/folding for space, reliable, and not so incredibly heavy that I can't lug it up the stairs, haha.

I've seen a lot of models on Amazon for $200-300 dollars that look promising, but I thought I'd see if anyone had suggestions before investing.

size doesn't matter (in this case). what matters is the horrendously loud noise you're going to be asking your neighbors to tolerate without getting yourself evicted.

fairly certain no decent treadmill has been invented that can be easily hauled up stairs.

The 200-300 more than likely can't handle running. And theyre all gonna be heavy.

And having a treadmill in an apartment is kind of obnoxious but especially so if there's someone below your apartment.

I have a treadmill in my apt and I'm on the 2nd floor. It doesnt bother them to hear my motor. I am lucky as they leave at 5pm and arent there weekends. I still use the treadmill whenever. Its motorized w motorized incline. Some of those smaller treadmills have manual incline and often only has 2 settings. I'd talk to your neighbors below and ask them if it would bother them and if there is a specific time that would be bad. Good luck

We have an elliptical, although we put a carpet under it. No complaints thus far from the neighbors below, unlike when I do a turbo jam DVD, or jump rope, or even yoga.

There are such things as small manual treadmills (no motors)... had one several years ago and hated it, however, because it is a beast to walk on (mine was like walking in sand... good workout, but tough). And make sure the neighbors below you aren't going to mind listening to a treadmill motor above them.

Was going to suggest checking the reviews on Amazon, but sounds like you've already done that.

And as everyone else has said, it's not going to be light in any case.

I would suggest some other cardio machine for an apartment like elliptical, bike, or rowing. I know when I use the treadmill, I am very heavy footed (I thought this would improve after I lost half my body weight, but no, not really) and sounds like a herd of cocaine fueled elephants are running round.

You could try Leslie Sansone-she has walking DVD's that you follow along with. I've done them before and they're really good! I think she has some walking routines on youtube...check that out first (not sure about the neighbors under you tho)!
