starting my PCOS weight loss journey for real!

Hi everyone. My name is Liz. When I was 18 years old, after a year of going from doctor to doctor, specialist to specialist, I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism (neither of which are helpful in weight loss). I've never had a positive body image and have always thought I was fat, even when I wasn't. The rapid weight gain began when I was 16 and continued until my diagnosis and subsequent medication. I constantly felt pressure from society and just looking around at my peers to be in amazing shape. My relationship with food is not healthy either because I struggle with self-control, and even though I should be on a low carb diet to control the PCOS, I love pizza and bagels and continue to eat them. I have not been able to lose more than 5 lbs in the last few years because I keep giving up when it's too hard or too inconvenient to stay healthy. So I want to really start my weight loss journey and I think I really need the support of other like-minded people to keep me on track. If that can be you, I'd love to hear from you :)

How Ironic I was just on here looking for someone "LIKE" me! I refreshed the Blog and you showed up! I have Pcos as well. I was not diagnosed until my early 20's, I was trying to have another baby and after 1 failed year the results were in. It can be really hard for us woman to lose weight and that is why we need to stick together. I am just now starting on my journey to a new me and I would like to support you with only support in return:-) I am sending you a friend request!
  • I also have PCOS and hypothyroidism along with some autoimmune issues that have just made it VERY difficult to lose weight. It can be so frustrating to look "normal" on the outside and be struggling with these conditions/diseases. I'm so ready to finally commit to losing the weight and getting healthy so that my husband and I can start our own little family  we can do it!!
