Apparently I am a yo yo dieter. I can lose weight but keeping it off is my biggest challenge! This time I want it to be different! I'm trying a less restrictive way by tracking to 1500 calories per day. I'm losing about 2 pounds a week. When I get to my goal I want to maintain my weight loss. Any tips on how to keep going once you feel you are at an ideal weight?

Find your maintence calories and eat to maintenance.
When you overeat, return to maintence the next meal or day.
Basically the same as when you're losing.

What some people do is calculate what their calories would be at maintenance at their goal weight and eat that. The weight comes off slower but you are already eating at maintenance and getting accustom to eating the correct number of calories.
Also as a recovering yo yo dieter, don't think of this as a diet. A diet has an end. Eating properly does not only last 4 to 8 weeks or until you reach a certain weight. I need to consciously make good choices everyday to feel my best and not to gain back the weight I have lost thus far.0
