Is it bad that I never run?

Hello! I'm currently 20 years old and am someone who has never taken too easily to exercise, but I am trying to improve my fitness. I love walking, and hardly ever drive to work etc. I also enjoy using most things at the gym and love an occaional Zumba or yoga shesh!

However, one thing I just cannot seem to enjoy is running or jogging. I have tried it both in the gym, and outside on more scenic routes. I just can't seem to ever find the motivation to do it! I have noticed that doing jogging and running seems to really get my heart going though, and It has made me wonder if avoiding either of those will negatively impact my fitness? Should I aim for the red faced breathless look when I exercise? Or is my walking and other activities (that aren't so strenuous) enough to keep me at a good level of fitness?

Thankyou for any help!

I don't run either because my hips are garbage. I row and do incline treadmill (speed walking, no running/jogging). My cardiovascular health is top notch. Running is good, but not required for losing weight or to get the cardiovascular benefits.

    You might also try swimming.

    1. Running isn't necessary but you should find some of activity to stress your cardio system for overall health.

    2. If you are red faced and breathless than you are trying to do it in a way that is waaaay above your level. That's like me going into the gym, loading up all the 45 plates available on the bar and deciding that strength training isn't for me since I can't unrack the weights to even try to lift it. Slow the F down to a point where you can talk while you run and you have found your aerobic pace.
