Sick of a lifetime of being overweight

In short I'm a computer nerd with a very low interest in doing anything physical. Needless to say, I've pretty much been overweight my entire life and I'm sick of it. My motivation for this is my desire to join the Air Force- and idea I've always entertained but never acted upon.
The max weight they will allow for my height is 182lbs, but I want to drop to about 170lbs (to give myself a better chance at passing those rigorous military fitness exams) and put my BMI into the "healthy" category.
I've been kinda sort of dieting for a couple months but my progress has been slow. My friend told me about this site, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Hopefully with all these calorie calculating mumbo jumbos I can become a more efficient fat burner.
TL;DR Fat white kid wants to become hunky military dude.

And I totally get not liking exercise at first. I've never been athletic at all but once I started working out, it just stuck. Find something you love that gets you moving and that's the best thing you can do. If you have a gym membership, you should look into MMA classes (I've been trying to find one myself) or another sport that interests you. If you prefer to be on your own, look into the Couch 2 5K app and the Zombies, Run! app. I love both of them!
All in all, just find something that gets your heart pumping that you love doing and you'll never be bored!0 -
btw, I just realized how dapper we both look in our profile pictures. Kind of cool coincidence.0
