I would like to drink start drinking ensure for breakfast, it is something that can be eaten on the go and it has a lot of protein. What you guys think? I was told ensure might make me gain weight and it's given to elderly people who can't eat.

If it fits your calorie goals, go for it.0

Yeah, it won't make you gain weight if it fits in your calories. I will say, however, that for me personally, drinking my breakfast calories leaves me hungry. I bought some slimfast shakes that have 20 grams of protein each. I like them as a supplement on days when I need more protein, they're easy and they taste alright. But I had one for breakfast one day and by lunch I was STARVING.
So I say try it but it might not work the way you want.0 -
I used to drink those a long time ago. It was probably better than nothing, but , nutritionally, there are better options, including just making a smoothie. I didn't last long because I thought they tasted ghastly, but that might not be a problem for you.0

Ensure is actually a great option. It's no different than a protein or meal replacement shake, and it only makes people gain weight when it is used as a supplement for weight gain in ADDITION to eating at their maintenance calories. It will not make you gain weight as long as you are still within your calorie goal for the day And, it has tons of protein, healthy fats, and vitamins that are all in balanced proportions. I'd say go for it it! The only thing I will say, like someone above me mentioned, is that if you struggle with getting hungry soon after you drink it, it may not be filling enough. You may want to look at adjusting your calories throughout the rest of the day so you could have a little something with it that is easy to eat on the go, like a hard boiled egg or apple with PB, so you can get some food in your stomach as well to help keep you fuller longer0
