Not done losing but still calling this a win

So at the tail end of December 2014, a colleague/friend told me that he and some other members of our department were gonna do a Biggest Loser contest and asked if I wanted in.

I asked what the wager was, and he said $50 each, winner takes all. I thought about it for a minute, then said, "Yeah, count me in."

We all weighed in on January 1 using the same scale and that weight was recorded as starting weight. Winner would be determined by the person who had lost the highest percentage of weight.

About a week later I bought a Fitbit - partly to get an idea of my activity (and how well/poorly I slept) and to record my food & water intake. I was down 5lbs at this point, which I'm sure was at least 70% water weight, as I was making sure I drank a TON of water.

Fast forward to February and I switched to MFP because the database here is FAR superior and I wanted to be more accurate with my intake. With Fitbit I was having to fuss with serving information to get it to match up with what the label said and some of my brands just aren't in there so I was taking the closest match. Obnoxious to say the least!

Beginning of March rolls around and we do another weigh in. Percentage-wise, I'm just about tied with one other person. Total weight lost at this point: 12lbs.

The last official weigh-in day was April 1. I stuck to my usual food as best I could, weighed just about everything, and the weight kept coming off (much more slowly, of course).

Weigh-in day arrives and the other 3 each get on the scale and record their weight. Then for grins one of them figures out what I would need to weigh to win this thing.

I was 2lbs below that number.

So I am now 15lbs lighter, $250 richer, and (mostly) happy with the result. Not so happy about having to buy some new clothes, but shopping is always fun.

Still have a ways to go before I look the way I really want to, but I'm gonna get there!

:)

But you do have that $250 to spend on your new clothes... :-)
    Great job, by the way!

It's the shopping that's kind of a pain - what I need most is new bras and I'm now between sizes! *mutters grumpily* I'll need pants as well but with the weather warming up I'm sticking with what I have with plans to replace come fall.

    Thank you!!
