Does it take awile for your body to adjust to new diet?

I was wondering it seems like the longer I am on this diet the faster the weight is coming off. Btw I am no where near my goal of 70 lbs. Just for the record I am eating roughly 1600 to 1700 cal a day and burning around 200 a day excercising. It just seems like at first my body was maybe in shock and a little bit of starvation mode and now it's realized that I'm not going to die Or has given up the fight lol and decided to let the calories burn. Is this possible?

    Weight loss isn't linear

    Starvation mode doesn't exist

    It may still slow down, stall and restart ...you may end up only losing scale weight once or twice a month

    Just keep on doing it and have faith that you're on the right path
