I currently have a polar Ft4 but was contemplating getting something different...does anyone have any suggestions or comparisons from personal experience ? I like using my HRM to just track my workout cals burned but I see a lot of people using Fitbits and Jawbones these days.......Not sure what the major difference is and if it is worth the $

Thanks in advance!

I have the FT4 too, and I like it for my workouts. I don't personally feel the need to track my daily movement since it's not going to change what I put in for exercise on MFP.

I think it depends on what your priorities are. If, as you say, you just want to look at what you're burning and what your HR is as you work out? Ft4 all the way.

I'm a (proud) new owner of a Fitbit Charge HR, and I've found that while it's much more convenient to wear (no bulky chest strap moving around under my sports bra ugh), it's not as convenient to check my heartrate in the middle of vigorous exercise... Like running. But that's a minor irritation. It's been extremely eye-opening how many calories I've been burning doing everyday activities (apparently crochet makes my heartrate jump by a decent amount. Who knew!).

I like both, they both serve different functions. One is also a much bigger investment. Take your priorities and decide based off of that =)
