Is Strong Curves for weight loss???

Hi,
Currently on week 9 of strong curves. 3x. Plus CX Works ( core/high rep/tube) and yoga 3x week (30min each=60).
My question is... Does Strong curves work for weight loss as it seems like it is only for girls who are at healthy weight who are trying to build etc.
I've been consistently doing this for 9 weeks (2 weeks off in early Feb for death of dad). But I've only lost 8 lbs since Jan 20. Inches I'm down 2 off hips, 2 off tummy, 1 from waist, 2 bust. Thighs and bicep pretty much same.
Should I move onto advanced after this ends in 4 weeks or is there a better weight loss weight program?

    It's strength training--you can do it when losing weight or when gaining, it just depends on what you eat. Presumably you won't add muscle when losing, but you will get stronger and more fit and the exercises will be beneficial.

    its not a weight loss program. you need to change your diet for weight loss.

    I'm eating 1600 calories ( I'm 5'9/ 196)
    I did enter my information into IIFYM and it said I should be aiming for 1780. 30%carb, 30 fat and 40 protein. I'm trying to stick to this and typically eat between 1550-1800.
