mfp daily goals

Options
Hi. I am not trying to eat less. I'm just entering everything I eat into mfp. Every day the mpf daily goals show that I'm eating too much sugar and too much protein, and yet my total calories is around 1,100 to 1,300.

Today I only ate 568 calories and yet have a minus 4 for protein and a minus 14 for sugar. And yet, I only had 1 serving of Jenny O lean turkey for protein and 1 pear and 2 apricots for sugar.

Are the daily goals reliable? Can they be changed?

mfp is telling me that I will go into starvation more if I don't eat more calories. How do I eat more calories without sending these 2 through the roof?

the goals themselves are based on percentages, and can be changed. the protein is really low, imo, so going over isnt a big deal, its probably better for you.
the sugar setting is actually based on the recommendation on ADDED sugar in your diet, so anytime you have fruit itll put you over your goal there, most people here dont bother tracking sugar unless theyre diabetic or have another medical reason to do so. however, it can also be changed if you want. to change them, go to the home tab and select Goals, then change goals, and select custom. a very popular % setting is 40 carb, 30 protein, 30 fat.
what you want to watch out for is the database entries you choose. some of them will have inaccurate info.
as far as eating more calories without sending macros/micros over - you have to be more careful about what you choose to eat.

Thanks to both of you. That's a big help.
