I am trying to lose around 1-1.5 lb a week but I'm unsure of how many calories I need to be eating. I run on the elliptical 6 times a week for at least 35 minutes and do interval training so I typically burn around 450-500 calories. Besides that, I work in an office and am off my feet all day. Would this be considered lightly active or sedentary?

MFP uses activity level separate from exercise. So sedentary.0

This.
Then you log your exercise when you do it, and you'll get those calories added to that day's total.
MFP intends you to eat back your exercise calories. However, HRMs, machines, MFP, etc often overestimate. I'd say start with either eating back a fixed percentage (50-75%) or assuming you burn between 7 and 10 cals per minute (and not assuming 10 if some of your minutes are warm-up, cooldown, a rest interval, etc). I'd probably start with 250-325 and see how you do for 4-6 weeks, then re-evaluate.0
