I have about 200 pounds to lose but an easier way to think about it is I need to lose 10 pounds 20 times or 5 pounds 40 times lol

For some reason, I was reading your post and the quote "The longest journey starts with a single step" came to mind. 200 pounds might sound like an overwhelming goal but start with the first 10 and that is super achievable! good for you for being here and starting the journey!

That is a great way to think about it! Plus, every pound counts towards a better outlook. It is indeed like horseshoes and grenades - almost does count!

My first thought was the question "How do you eat a whole elephant?" Answer, "One bite at a time!"

Granted, not the best analogy to use on a weight loss site, but it's the same thing you were saying in the original post.

Just last night i was getting on the treadmill because it was my cardio day, I really didn't WANT to and I was only in the red on calories by 189 so I told myself I'd only run until I burned those off. Then when I reached that I was almost ten minutes into a thirty minute pre programmed run so I told myself I'd just run fifteen minutes then quit. When I reached that, I said hell, five more and it'll be an even twenty minutes. Then the last ten are a slow progression of slower paces so I figured I could finish those. The last five are cool down.

I conned myself through a thirty minute hard run and burned 461 calories one bite at a time.
