I am an older female who is so embarrassed at her weight I hardly know how to react in a public setting. I weigh 295 lbs and have tried to lose weight and continually failed. I have little support and realize the only support I must have is my own and get up and do something about it so I am here. If anyone has any great beginning food ideas, please let me know.

Hello & Welcome to MFP!
Try easy food swaps.
ie. Instead of white bread go whole wheat.
Instead of milk chocolate go dark cocoa dusted almonds.
Instead a big serving of mashed potatoes or rice try quinoa.
There's really just no quick, magical fix.
Take a survey of what you are currently eating, pick one item that you can swap out for healthier version and do that until it's second nature then pick another item and so on.
Just by making simple, gradual, small changes, you will see results but you have to be your own best advocate, read food labels, understand & accept what will work for you, then be consistent.
Best of luck to you!0 -
