Not new but done with excuses

I have been lurking around MFP for a couple of years now. I signed up a while back and have been up and down with tracking and sticking to it. I previously lost almost 30lbs through MFP but gained it all back starting September 2013 when I injured my back.

Being only 27 I never thought that I would have to deal with a back injury until one day it hit. I bent over to pick up a few things at work and instantly knew something was wrong. I had a sharp pain in my lower back and down my right leg. After waiting to see a specialist and getting an MRI it was revealed that I have slipped a disc which was pinching my Sciatic nerve, I was sent in for an L5-S1 Decompression. My surgery was supposed to be in February of 2014 but got pushed to May due to a flood at the hospital which affected most of the operating rooms.

I came out of surgery with much optimism but as of now it hasn't helped as much as I had hoped. The strength in my right leg is around 40% of what it was 2 years prior. Walking around a hospital all day at work is killer causing me to have a very noticeable limp and pain down both my legs and in my feet. This is far from 2 years prior when I rode 220 KM in the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

I am at the point in my life where I am fed up with the pain and I know if I can lose 60-70 lbs then I will be in a much better place. I have a 14 month old daughter and another on the way, due in September. Right now is the time where I need to give it my all but I find myself making excuses when I have pain, excuses that I am too busy or excuses that I just don't have the energy to cook something healthy.

I would love to be able to find some friends to join me in this journey, people who are going through the journey or have already reached the goals that they have set. I love to be pushed and am looking for friends to help me with that support.

Thanks!
