I have battled with this for the past 8 years of my life, from playing 3 sports all year round to not doing anything except eat. I think this is the first time I've ever been honest with myself and anyone who's actually reading this. I've gone from a solid 200lb frame to sloppy 284 lbs, spending probably around $20 a day just on garbage food. I decided to actually start tracking my diet and my budget, food just became this thing in college to consume my anxiety but only consumed myself. For the past three weeks I've lost 11lbs just from my diet and budget no work out. Using this app I've decided to track everything, and I've signed up to a couple of rec leagues for sports knowing how badly out of shape but need inspiration and need to start somewhere. This is my struggle, and I'm finally going to stop talking about it and just do it. I hope to inspire others to keep going and look at others for inspiration, because no matter what the time will still pass.

    You can do eeeeeet! :)

But seriously, you can. You've already taken the first (and hardest) steps, and 11 lbs. lost is fantastic! My best advice is to work this site. It's been loads of help to me (down 135 lbs. so far). Weigh/measure your food and log everything. Everything. When it comes to exercise, I've found that it's easier to stick to it if you actually like what you're doing, so signing up for those rec leagues sounds like a great idea. If you screw up (and we all do), accept it and get right back on track. Most importantly: do what works for YOU. There are lots of different ways to go about creating a healthier lifestyle, and experiment a little to figure out what works for you. There's some great advice in the community threads here about all sorts of programs, but they basically all come down to the same thing: calorie deficit (CICO). Stick to that and you'll lose the weight.

As far as the fast food goes, I hear you because I love that stuff. I don't know how much of a cook you are, but there are tons of recipes out there for "lighter" versions of a lot of it - that way you get the taste you love but a healthier, more nutritious version. Just Google.

    Best of luck to you!

Thank you, I'll definitely be monitoring my intake quite a bit using this app and logging every little thing. You've got some great points and do plan to stick to this, congrats on your amazing accomplishments thus far.

They do add a bunch of chemicals and fat to fast food over time your stomach gets so used to it and over time you begin to crave it and don't feel full when you eat it takes time and literally you gotta pull the plug in a sense with your stomach to drain all that mess out of it but congrats on your journey and weight loss it's beautiful keep up the good work and stay away from the fast food

The hardest part (in my opinion) is just being honest with yourself then doing something about it! You are doing great so far, but like overlook said, when you mess up just dust yourself off and get back at it! You got this! :)

Food isn't addicting, but good on your for realizing it comes from moderation and eating within your calorie goals.

Keep at it and be honest with yourself.

Willpower, discipline and dedication are vital to achieving your goals. I know for me they are.

There are days that I have to fight almost a minute by minute battle not to go buy brownies or ice cream. Or worse, where every minute at the gym seems like an eternity. But I remind myself that no one's going to lose the weight for me, so stfu and keep at it.

    You can do this!
