I'm trying to add to my exercise journal, and today I worked out with a personal trainer. (first time) He had me working with weights on my shoulders, arms, and back. How do you enter that in??? I put in weight training...arms...weights...nothing.
Help! LOL

It said I only burned like 180 calories. Seems like so little when I know tomorrow I won't even be able to lift my own arms. This guy kicked my butt and good! He had me working my triceps off a weight bench and by the end I couldn't lift myself up to finish. I was surprised at how weak I really am.
It made me want to try even harder.
But thank you...helped me out tones.

Depending on how much weight you are lifting - strength training sometimes doesn't burn a whole lot of calories. Do you recall what size weights you used? The best way to get a more accurate count of calories burned when strength training is to wear a heart rate monitor that tracks calories burned as well as your heart rate. I would say 180 calories is probably pretty close, but I don't know for sure since I have no idea how much your PT had you lifting. Since there is a cardio effect, you should log that into your cardiovascular activities.

A good PT will whip a person into shape in no time!! It's great you can afford to work with one, most people can't. Keep up the great work! Does he have you keep a food journal too? Mine did when I had one. It was the best thing I ever started doing!
