Advice on tweaking my workout regimen!

Is it okay to work out Tuesday-Friday and then take Saturday-Monday off?
While I realize doing 4 consecutive days is not ideal, it's the best way exercise fits into my schedule right now. I am open to the idea of trying to shift my schedule around if it is better in the long run.
I typically do a Jillian Michaels DVD (I have several), sometimes paired with a walk/run in the park or a yoga video. Ideally I aim for at least 40-60 minute sessions.
As for the DVDs throughout the week, I might do a cardio dvd, total body dvd, lower body dvd, then a core dvd.
While my overall goal is weight loss (I'm 5'5, 163, down 25 lbs this year from 188), I do want to start to work on strength more. I've found that the plyo from my DVDs has finally started to get easier (kinda sorta), but I'm wondering if a 4 days on 3 days off schedule is detrimental to building strength.
I feel like 4 days on wears my muscles out, and after 3 days off I am itching to get a workout in for fear that I'm going to lose progress. I start feeling guilty, by day off number 3, like I'm cheating myself.
If anyone can get through all of this info, I'd appreciate any constructive thoughts/advice you might have

Don't get too hung up on fixed schedules. As long as you are not training the same muscles everyday it should not affect your strength gains. Any workout is better than no workout, plus it has to fit your schedule or it wont be sustainable.0
