I just put my actual birthday in and it shot up my calorie intake. So should I go by that our the old one?

Need more info... What was it based on before? Did you change anything else?
Age does factor into how many calories we burn. We gradually burn less as we get older. Your profile says you are 46. If you were really 26, it could matter for ~100 or so calories per day.0 -
When I had synced MFP with Facebook, it took my FB birthdate (which is false) and gave me a calorie limit for a 105-year-old female of the same weight, which was 1500. I had already gotten comfy by the time I realized what the deal was. I decided to keep 1500 cals. It turns out it's close to the maintenance cals for my goal weight.
It all depends on what your true numbers are and whether you can sustain the number of calories given.0
