Men and soya

As a matter of interest do any guys here eat soya or soy products or avoid it due to the estrogen (I.e allegedly causing lower sperm count, hair loss, reduced muscle and man boobs) ?

Probably doesn't matter. The studies on this only show very marginal increases, not enough to give you man boobs...nowhere near that, or everyone man in asia would be man-boobing it up. By this logic, we'd have to associate hamburgers with man-boobs too, which I think draws a much stronger correlation.
Estrogen does not cause low sperm count. Low testosterone does.0 -
I prefer to avoid the stuff just because it's just a heavily processed food for vegetarians/vegans. I'd rather eat edamame or tofu in an asian dish; we use it in a lot of soups. And even tofu itself is a bit too heavily processed for me to eat regularly.0

What do hamburgers have to do with soy?
Estrogen counteracts testosterone0 -

Tofu and edamame are also high in estrogen0 -
I don't avoid it. From articles I have read, the men that had issues with soy products were consuming a very high amount over a period of time before experiencing problems, like tenderness around the nipples, for one.0

I'm Just asking as a matter of interest as I don't positively avoid soy products as I simply have never had any to date, and therefore probably never would in future, but I saw an article the other day about an actor blaming his man boobs on drinking copious amounts of soy milk. I'll link it if I can find it.0

I've been eating soy products fairly regularly for the last seven years and have had no complications. The man-boobs I got from eating fried meat and hamburgers are nearly gone now, and my phsycials/blood work have come back as extremely healthy. All the indicators I had previously had for future medical issues have dropped to negligible. The studies that I have seen on the subject have shown that it has negligible effect unless you are consuming far more soy than any one person needs. I'm not worried.0
