FUN ways to work out?

I'm trying to find fun ways to work out. So far, I've come up with only one idea: roller hockey! (Can't get enough hockey here in Metro Detroit.)

What's your favorite *fun* way to work out?

    It depends on what you enjoy. Personally I don't enjoy team sports, so roller hockey would be anything but fun for me.

    Some of my "fun" workouts are:
    Ice-or roller-skating outdoors, provided there's a nice smooth surface
    hiking and taking lots of pictures
    kayaking and taking lots of pictures
    mountain biking on mild-to-moderately technical trails
    Taking my nieces swimming
    Going to a waterpark (hey, climbing up all those stairs counts as exercise, right?) :wink:
    Exploring a new part of town on foot
    Skiing (downhill is more fun, but cross country is a better workout)
    Dancing lessons for adult beginners (so far I've tried ballet, hip hop, ballroom, and latin. I'm terrible at it but it's still fun)

    I looked up some Just Dance videos on youtube tonight to do with my kids, and it was quite the cardio workout! Plus super freakin fun, we laughed the entire time! It may become a daily thing :)

    Also... hiking somewhere fun, to a waterfall maybe. Swimming. Boogie boarding. Kayaking. Cleaning (I love cleaning.). Yoga. Sledding.

    And almost any type of workout can be fun if you have a really great playlist to listen to.

    My idea of 'fun' is going for a 10km run. But seeing it's winter, cold & the cold really gets to me...I'll miss out.

    ZUMBAAAAAAAA! I do it on the Wii - Zumba Fitness 2 is pretty freakin' awesome.

    I also personally enjoy strength training with resistance bands, hiking, swimming, long walks, and of course sex. :laugh:

    Dancing is just awesome all around though. Find the right music and get crazy in your living room like no one is watching. :drinker:

    I'd love to get back to playing actual hockey but I sucked when I actually played and I'd probably be worse now. Roller hockey would be amazing! Where do you play at? I'm downriver so if its near I'd LOVE to check it out!

    I'm starting to actually find it fun to run...especially during races. But for actual fun, I love swimming...Zumba!...actually most classes make me feel great even if i'm not loving it at the moment. I also like doing cool outdoorsy stuff, even if it's not very often....I wish I was closer to like..canoeing, paddleboarding, that kind of stuff!

    I get bored, so I find I constantly need to be mixing it up. Walking from home, driving somewhere more outdoorsy and going for a walk or hike, yoga, zumba, kettlebells, xbox kinect games, bicycling, swimming... for me, the key is not to get stuck in a boring rut.

    Disc Golf .... Is my go to. If sex is a workout then your doing it wrong.

    I have started doing Aikido. Generally on a Saturday I help with the kids for one or two hours, and do the adults class. The kids play a few games and my main job is to help make sure they don't hurt themselves and I sometimes join in the games. I taught a little boy to do a back roll which was cool. At the moment I am a beginner , so my 6 year old teaches me stuff lol. The adults class is fun and relaxed. It is a great way to relax and socialise after a week at work and I am finally learning how to roll.

    There are some pretty fun activity based video games out there these days - I've got Dance Central for Xbox 360 & it's awesome; it's fun & cheesy & makes me SWEAT.

    I like to play Just Dance. Its especially fun if you can get other people to play with you. Also, Wii Fit is great and having your weight/bmi progress on a chart is fantastic imo and great motivation

    I love disc golf as well, but I have to respectfully disagree about the sex comment. If you work out while having sex you must be doing it RIGHT.

    Even though I already posted; I am gonna recommend starting YOGA again. You won't regret it.
