Ideas to stay on track during vacation?

Taking the kiddo to Disneyland next week, and in addition to wanting to save money, I'd like to watch my intake as well. I'm looking ideas for healthy foods that I could pack in my purse to take into the park, so we can avoid the expense and temptation of the not-so-great restaurant/snack bar options.

Grab some fruit--apples, bananas. grapes, etc. Also maybe some sandwich crackers (LAnce brand makes them in pkgs of like 6 crackers, all dif flavors). Ziploc baggies of the Special K cracker chips, granola bars, 100 calorie packs, etc :-) Good luck and have fun!

    Oh! Have fun! (-:

Take celery sticks, and carrots. Fresh fruit, and nuts. Crackers, and water.

Ziplock baggies are great to package serving sizes in. Also, you may consider packing a picnic with some of your favorite lunch time go to's. I pack the lunch in plastic, and to keep it cold I put ice packs in a zip lock baggy with paper towel, or wash cloths at the bottom to soak up the condensation.

I remember when I was a kid you could go up to any food stand or fast food joint to ask for a cup of ice. The food stands would charge you for a water bottle, but a free cup of ice would melt almost immediately into a nice, calorie-free glass of water in the hot Florida sun. Plus me and my sisters always enjoyed chomping on ice.

    Oh, enjoy!!!!!

As for food, stock up on fruit like bananas, apples. Dried fruits and nuts to keep you going and if you have something with large calorie count, don't worry too much, walking around the park the entire day will for sure make up for it!
