Overweight and jumping: is this "OK" pain?

So this is a bit of a weird question, and I feel really stupid asking it (depending on the answer!), but:
when I do exercise that involves a lot of jumping, I get quite uncomfortable at the top of my stomach, sort of level with the bottom of my rib cage. Is this an OK muscular sort of ache from working those muscles, or is it bad?
I'm doing a lot of abs exercises at the moment, and it feels like this jumping ache is in the same sort of place as sometimes hurts when I'm focussing on my abs, but I'm so clueless with where muscles are, that I don't know if this is my abs aching from other exercises and complaning a bit when I jump?
I know if I didn't wear a sports bra, I'd get really achey at the top of my chest, so I'm wondering if it's a similar sort of thing from my (pretty large) spare tyre not having the support that a sports bra gives my boobs.
So does anyone know whether this is a "normal" muscular ache, or from fat wobbling around a bit too freely? If it's the latter, is it bad for me, and is there anything I can do to stop it (other than not jumping, obviously)?
Sorry again for the pretty stupid question - I have no idea where half my muscles are and when someone asks if I can feel them working when I stretch/exercise, I just don't know!

I wouldn't say that's a stupid question! Without being able to see where you're referring to it sounds like it may be a pain that's similar to the sports bra situation. Make sure when you're jumping that you're landing with bent knees and not locked out knees, and that you're breathing and not holding your breath while you move. You can try wearing a compression top which will help to hold in any wobbly bits. It won't stop it all together but I find my butt doesn't jiggle around nearly as much when I'm wearing compression gear. You can find compression gear at a sports apparel store, it should say specifically compression. You could also try something like a maternity belt if you'd prefer to just support the midsection under your normal clothes. Hope this helps0

I would say maybe try a super tight fitted top to keep it all in. For me, if I just let my chub go willy nilly it hurts at my belly button area and like the top of my back.. almost like things are stretching. I don't think it's an issue, but I try to keep it all locked down0
